Whenever I do something that pertains to the exterior of a book, it gets saved here if I like it enough.
Just to assuage any fears: yes, I do design full book covers (not just the front)! I chiefly do paperbacks, but can handle hardcovers too. Here are three examples of my work.
I have mixed feelings about uploading images that aren't all the same size, but I think I'll allow it here: the size of a book often determines how its backmatter must be handled, and this is a good way of showcasing how I've handled that with different client and size demands.
Most of these have a corresponding "full cover" version, but I'm not including all of those here because let's face it: thumbnails are easier on the eyes when you're web browsing. For the sake of aesthetics, I've resized them all to have the same dimensions here: in reality, they'd be whatever size necessary to meet the client's needs.
These are designs I've done for clients that weren't used in the end, for one reason or another. Some were rejected outright (e.g. as was the case with Rich Lange) while others were loved by the author, but unfortunately didn't make it in the lead-up to final publishing (e.g. as was the case with Mike Mears). Either way, these rejected designs still hold a special place in my heart, and it's my hope that the reasons are readily apparent.
